Terms of Service 

MoCo Compo

Effective Date: April 16, 2026

  1. Services. MoCo Compo provides residential compost collection services in Montezuma County, Colorado. By signing up for or using our services, you agree to these Terms of Service.

  2. Accepted Materials. Customers may only place approved organic materials for collection, including fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, eggshells, yard trimmings, and other items listed on our accepted materials guide. Prohibited items include pet waste, plastics, glass, excessive liquids, and other items listed on our materials guide.

  3. Customer Responsibilities. You agree to: (a) properly sort and prepare materials for collection and (b) place buckets at the designated pickup location by 7:30 AM on your scheduled pickup day.

  4. Contamination Fees. Contaminants such as plastic, non-compostable containers, aluminum foil, latex gloves, produce stickers, etc. are extremely harmful in a compost pile and increase the risk that entire loads will be landfilled. If we note and communicate consistent contamination over the course of a few months, yet contamination continues, we may assess a fee. Before we assess a fee, we will send you an email letting you know that the contamination issue must be resolved in order to avoid a fee at your next monthly pay cycle. After this warning, we will charge $5 per incident for residential contamination.

  5. Payment. Residential service is billed at $15.00 per month, which includes bi-weekly (every two weeks) curbside pickup. Payment is due on the service date of each month. Late payments beyond 7 days may result in a service hold. Prices are subject to change with 30 days' written notice.

  6. Service Changes & Cancellation. Either party may cancel service at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate service for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or repeated placement of prohibited materials. No refunds will be issued for partial months upon cancellation.

  7. Missed Pickups. MoCo Compo will make every effort to collect on scheduled bi-weekly pickup days. In the event of a missed pickup due to our error, we will arrange a makeup collection within 5 business days. We are not liable for missed pickups caused by weather, road conditions, holidays, or circumstances beyond our control.

  8. Liability. MoCo Compo is not liable for damage resulting from improper bucket placement or contaminated loads.

  9. Changes to Terms. We may update these Terms at any time. Customers will be notified of changes via email or written notice, and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
