Frequently Asked Questions

  • We only accept food scraps. We do not accept any other organic materials. Here is a list of what you can put in your compost bucket:

    • Fruit and vegetable scraps

    • Eggshells

    • Coffee grounds

    • Tea bags (remove any staples)

    • Bread and grains

    • Pasta and rice

    • Dairy products

    • Meat and bones

    • Nutshells

  • Right now we offer one bi-weekly residential curbside service. We will provide your home with a 5-gallon bucket, and every other week we will come by, empty and clean it, and haul the compost off to composting facility at the Montezuma County Landfill.

  • We do not have a guaranteed service start date. Once we figure out our service route, we will let you know when you can expect service to start.

  • We currently only offer one bi-weekly service for $12/month.

  • To sign-up for curbside composting service, head to the Services tab and fill out the form.

    Once you sign-up for service, we will contact you about when you can expect service to start.

  • Payments will start when we start composting service. We will send you monthly bill which you can pay online or in person on collection days.

  • Everyone! Our service is for any Montezuma County resident who wants to keep food scraps out of the landfill. Maybe you're a renter or live in an apartment without space for a compost pile. Maybe you have a garden but produce more food scraps than you can use. Either way, we'd love to have you.

    Right now, we're only offering residential service. We're not yet set up to work with businesses, but we hope to expand in the future.
